In this webinar you will learn about California’s new business incentive landscape, terminating its enterprise zone credit program and enacting new programs. AB93 & SB90 has reshaped the state’s economic development tax programs. Building upon the framework of existing targeted programs, these bills redirect roughly $750 million annually from the current geographically limited Enterprise Zone program to new business incentives.

  • California Competes Income Tax Credit - Administered by Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). Understand how businesses will have the opportunity to apply and compete for available tax credits.

  • Manufacturing Equipment Sales & Use Tax Exemption – Understand the new statewide sales tax exemption on all manufacturing equipment and R&D equipment purchases as well as certain tenant improvements.

  • New Employment Income Tax Credit - The hiring credit is for businesses located in census tracts with the 25 percent highest share of both unemployment and poverty in the state. Learn about the details of this tax credit and how best to educate your clients.

  • Employment Training Panel - provides funding to employers to assist in upgrading the skills of their workers through training that leads to good paying, long-term jobs. Understand how your clients could qualify.
